Communication Arts Partners (CAPS) constitutes the Communication Arts board of visitors. CAPS members serve as an advisory and support group who volunteer time, expertise, and personal resources to support the Department’s teaching, research and outreach efforts.
CAPs various activities include:
- Acting as ambassadors for the Department, participating in alumni outreach efforts aimed at increasing awareness, stature, and financial support for the Department.
- Providing advice and counsel at the request of the Department in matters relating to the preparation of students to enter the communication field as professionals, and when feasible assisting students in career development opportunities (e.g., internships).
- Providing much-needed financial support to the Department through annual gift pledges and through particular gifting initiatives (e.g., scholarship funding)
To carry out its mission, CAPs convenes as a committee of the whole twice yearly for extended business meetings, once during fall semester and once during spring semester.
