From August 20-22, 2013, the UW-Madison Communication Arts Department will host the 6th International Screenwriting Research Network Conference. Founded in 2006, the Screenwriting Research Network brings together scholars, writers and researchers from across the globe to discuss the screenplay in relation to its histories, theories, values and creative practices. Previous conferences have been held in Leeds, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Brussels, and Sydney.
This year’s theme, Screenwriting in a Global and Digital World, aims to raise questions about past, current, and future creative practices in scripting various forms of media, both old and new, as they continue to transform through digital technology and expanding globalization.
Conference co-directors J.J. Murphy and Kelley Conway invite participants to submit paper proposals on related topics to info@commarts.wisc.edu by January 1, 2013. For more information about the conference and areas of interest, please visit http://srnconference2013.commarts.wisc.edu.
