Biography

I received my B.A. in English Literature from the University of Delhi, and later pursued an M.A. in Media and Cultural Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. My research lies at the intersection of media theory and the anthropology of transnationalism, with a particular interest in the relationship between media, infrastructure, and migration. I’m interested in how media and migration are shaped by the material, infrastructural, and institutional arrangements that enable global movement. I’m also interested in how a libidinal political economy can help us think about migrant subjectivity, particularly the relationship between desire and media practices in a world increasingly shaped by social media. More broadly, my research interests span media and migration, the political economy of infrastructures, queer theory, and psychoanalysis.
