The Department of Communication Arts is pleased to announce that Professor Darshana Sreedhar Mini is a 2022-23 winner of the UW-Madison Exceptional Service Support Program award. Dr. Mini joined the film faculty of the Department of Communication Arts in 2020 and has already had a significant impact on our department, campus, and the fields of film studies and South Asian Media. Dr. Mini initiates productive discussions about diversity, social justice and media through her courses and research on South Asian Media and has also demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to mentoring, programming, and cross-campus collaboration. She is affiliated with the Center for South Asia, Gender and Women’s Studies, and the Center for Visual Cultures and is a co-organizer of a Borghesi-Mellon Workshop organized by the Center for Humanities on “Migrant Media and Artivism.
