Xiaotong Zhang

Xiaotong received her BA in Broadcast Journalism from the Communication University of China in 2021 and just completed her MSc in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam in 2024. Her research interest broadly revolves around media psychology. Specifically, she focuses on the dynamic between audiences and social media, and the role of media effects in health communication contexts. Her master’s thesis, “Exploring the Interplay of Social Media Use, FoMO, Media Multitasking, and Stress: The Moderating Role of Social Context,” focuses on how social context influences the psychological effects of social media use.
