Communication Arts graduate student Michael Braun won a Top Student Paper prize at the National Communications Association 97th Annual Convention in New Orleans earlier this month. His paper, titled “Obstacles to Social Networking Website Use in Older Adults,” garnered first place in the Human Communication and Technology division. (Click here to read the award-winning paper.)
The paper is part of his dissertation research, which examines intergenerational use of communication technologies, asking such questions as: How do grandparents and grandchildren use communication technologies in their relationships? How does this affect their relational satisfaction and closeness?
Congratulations, Michael!
