Featuring stand-up comedy from Ali Sultan, who has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Comedy Central’s Hart of the City (with Kevin Hart), and more. Ali is also a member of the Yes, And…Laughter Lab community and performed at YALL Comedy Fest in NYC in 2025. Ali will be joined in conversation with Professor Caty Borum of American University’s School of Communication, who is executive director of the Center for Media & Social Impact and co-founder of the Yes, And…Laughter Lab (YALL) and YALL Comedy Fest, a three-day comedy and human rights festival in New York City; she is also a former producer and philanthropy director with legendary TV comedy producer and writer Norman Lear. She is the author of The Revolution Will Be Hilarious: Comedy for Social Change and Civic Power (NYU Press) and co-author, with Lauren Feldman, of A Comedian and An Activist Walk Into a Bar: The Serious Role of Comedy in Social Justice (University of California Press).
