On Thursday evening, Comm Arts Rhetoric professor Rob Asen joined UW colleagues Nan Enstad from History and Keith Woodward from Geography on a panel discussing “Beyond Zuccotti Park: Why the Occupy Movement Matters.” Prompted by moderator Judy Davidoff of The Isthmus, the three debated the significance and impact of the Occupy movement and took questions from an audience of more than 150.
Prof. Asen brought his expertise on the effects of exclusion of certain groups and people from participation in the public sphere to the discussion. The event was part of the “Humanities Now!” series sponsored by the Center for the Humanities.
