Biography

Nimisha Khan is a graduate student in the Rhetoric, Politics, and Culture area of the Department of Communication Arts at UW-Madison. She received her B.A. in Philosophy from Miranda House, University of Delhi, and her M.A. in Media and Cultural Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has worked in political communications and digital campaigns in India, contributing to communication strategy and campaigns across state and national elections. Her research examines platform governance, political communication, and digital publics in the Global South. She is interested in content moderation, political speech, and how platform policies and infrastructures shape visibility and participation during moments of political contestation. Her broader research interests include rhetoric, media and cultural studies, and the relationship between technology, power, and public discourse.
