GoalBusters Consulting:  GoalBusters helps small and mighty nonprofit organizations with fundraising, communications, and strategic leadership. We provide training, planning, and hands-on implementation for organizations across the country and around the world.

Intern’s Duties:

One of the core clients for GoalBusters is KAWC/KOFA, a public radio station headquartered in Yuma, Arizona. Alice Ferris (BA ’91, MBA ’94), Partner, directs the fundraising program for the NPR affiliate, including on-air and email campaigns, events, grants, and major giving, in addition to supervising station staff activities related to fundraising and marketing. The KAWC/KOFA Marketing Intern will work with Alice on developing and implementing a marketing plan for student-driven programs on KAWC and KOFA. This will include print collateral, digital including social media and web, on-air messaging, and events. The intern will work remotely, although if you’d like to visit Yuma, Arizona, in the summertime when it reaches 120 degrees, we can probably arrange that.

Qualifications:

  • Required
    • Communication Arts major (open to May 2024 graduates)
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Proficiency with MS Office and Zoom
    • Professional communication skills
  • Preferred
    • Familiarity with Canva
    • Experience with website content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, and affinity for public media

Pay: $1,200 stipend

Hours: 5 hours per week

Expected start date: May 20, 2024

Expected end date: August 9, 2024

Location: Remote with option for site visit
