I'm deeply indebted to my experiences and growth in the Comm Arts department and with Richard Lawson in particular. He remains in my heart.  My career has spanned public relations in NYC for the first 6 years following graduation with a breakthrough position at HBO that ultimately moved me to LA. From there I became an executive at Universal, smaller production companies and finally becoming the head of the in-house movie department at NBC.  My passions remain with the creative process so I moved into independant producing and have developed and executive produced movies for NBC, CBS, TBS, Lifetime and Hallmark.  I've been honored to receive a Robert Woods Johnson Peabody Award for my CBS movie, Sharing the Secret and a Prism Award for Augusta, Gone for Lifetime.

I continue with my passion for developing and producing cable and network films plus I've expanded my career to include facilitating writing groups and more intensively focusing on supporting others through becoming a certified Life Coach.  I've also enjoyed the experience of teaching writing and filmmaking to teens and highly recommend it--its inspiring to work with kids and watch their creativity and passion for film and television blossom.

Gritzmacher, Anne

Currently I am living and working Santa Monica, Calif. (Greater Los Angeles). I am a Media Planner at Palisades Media Group. At Palisades, we do the media planning, buying (digital, broadcast, print and outdoor) for clients like The Weinstein Company, eBay, Del Taco, retailers like Beverages and More, Coldwater Creek, and the list goes on. Mainly my clients are in San Francisco, so sometimes I have the pleasure of going up there! As a media planner, my day is never the same. One day I may be developing a target for a campaign, evaluating a digital campaign’s success, running reach and frequencies for a radio/television campaign or compiling competitive spending. The list goes on, but I will not bore you! I am so grateful for what I learned as a Comm Arts major because I felt like I was prepared. Good old Comm Arts 100 prepared me for my new business client presentations, anything mass media helped me understand the media landscape and human behavior, and the production classes helped me grasp the production aspects of product integrations in scripts and shows. If you can’t tell, I love my job and couldn’t be happier. I have the University and the Comm Arts department to thank.
